Description
Situated along the banks of the river Moy, lies Belleek woods, a 1000acres woodlands holds the title of one of the largest urban forests in Europe. It is a peaceful haven of up to 6 miles of natural forest pathways,two of which are along the banks of the River Moy.Belleek Woods Ballina is an area of great tranquillity, peace andbeauty where you can enjoy the natural forest pathways running both through the forestry and along the river moy. There are two walks at Belleek. Trail One has 32 stops and runs for 2 km. Trail Two has 12 stops and stretches over 1km in length. which makes Belleek Woods an ideal place to experience the exploration of irishwoodlands, and native wild life including badgers, squirrels and the occasional otter. The Moy Estuary is also the haunt of many wild birds and in the pond and marshy areas frogs are a-plenty. You can also avail of picnic area’s situated thought out the forest, giving you a chance to rest and relax and enjoy the views and surroundings.
